Stampin' the Weekend Away

Alas, a failed attempt at two challenges in one.
Using the sketch from this week's Pals Paper Arts:
Love this clean and simple sketch!!
And the color/inspiration pic at Stampin' for the Weekend:

I thought I had a sure thing. The yellow wasn't working for me -apparently, I've used up my yellow creativity for the week.
I'm going to share my first attempt simply because my son loved it and claimed it: "your most awesome card ever!"
I even delved into the retired scrap stash for the Barely Banana because my current yellows soooo weren't working with this card. For once, the card looks better in the post than in real life. The butterfly is clear embossed, colored with blender pens, and spritzed with Vanilla Smooch Spritz. The white flowers are colored gray with blender pens to keep them from standing out so much.

Here is round 2:
This one works the clean & simple angle a little better
I used: Swallowtail set; Perfect Plum, Whisper White, Smoky Slate, and Pale Plum (ret.) c/s; Blackberry Bliss & Basic Gray inks; Smooch Spritz Vanilla, Pretties flowers (ret.), Beautifully Baroque TIEF, Jewels Perarl, Blender Pen.
I was so excited to use my new Blackberry Bliss ink, and I liked how it goes so nicely with the Perfect Plum -a brighter, richer counterpart. I also like how it bled out a little with the application of the Smooch Spritz. Gives a little insight to it's color depth.
This would make a pretty wedding shower card.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
Happy Crafting...
