Sunday Sweats

Happy Sunday!

Hope you have all been having a great weekend.
One of my favorite guilty pleasure blogs has a "Sunday Sweets" posting every week where they show beautiful cakes with a common theme...they are amazing.
This post is not like that.
For the past couple of years, I have really been trying to have a consistent exercise regime. I admit, some months aren't so much. I find it helps if I register for a race, sign up for a class, something that I have some financial investment in.
2 years ago a new hot yoga studio opened nearby with a great intro package that my sister told me I HAD to try. I loved it. I've been a member for a year and a half now, and am pretty good about going weekly. Not this month. As of this morning, I still had 3 classes to burn before the end of the I have 1. I did my first double yoga day today and it was great!

Now to get the running regime up and going... I lost my mojo after the half-marathon.
It made me sad, but not sad enough to do anything about it. I got back into walking around New Year's, hoping it would lead back to running-love, and we signed up for a 5k that happened a few weeks ago. I had forgotten how fun it was to run, and this event was the perfect reminder!
Hubby is wanting to do a 1/2 again in the fall -I told him after the last one that I was done, but he asked real sweet-like, and I couldn't say no. It's for a great cause too; raising funds and awareness to support programs for PTSD.
Alrighty, off to watch a flick before bed, then up early for some running -maybe. ;)

Sea...Hawks! Crafting for the 12th Man

Okay, here's some of that fun stuff I mentioned in the last post. I love the Seattle Seahawks, and have been a fan as long as I can remember. Some of you may have heard, but this season was kind of a big deal for us. The team spirit was unlike anything I've ever was incredible! Blue and green everywhere (more than the normal evergreens and large bodies of water).
Here are a couple of activities I did during the season:
Our preschool class project leading up to Super Bowl Sunday:
Tissue paper scraps adhered with liquid starch onto construction paper, and topped with white construction paper number 12. This hung in my window for the big game, and a couple of weeks after.

Goodies for the Big Game:
Me, looking aDORKable (emphasis on the dork), at Monday Night Football, selling programs to benefit local Girl Scouts:
Well, since offseason training has just begun, I'm thinking I need to start thinking about my 12th crafts for the upcoming's only a few months away, and I can hardly wait!
Happy Blue Friday!

Too much...

The worst part of not blogging consistently is trying to decide what to blog about when I do it, finally.
So much has happened since my last post -fun stuff, crafty stuff!
I guess since this is a "crafty" blog, I guess I should start there.
The craft of the week items went into the neighborhood Holiday Bazaar, and it was fun and I had enough left for gifts at the holidays
I made other things too: Canned tomatillo salsa -this past summer was an amazing one for our first crack at growing tomatillos, Halloween costumes (awesome Dalek & Shaun the Sheep), lots of sleep pants at Christmas.
Here is a snippet of a quilt I finished that my grandmother had given me the pieces to awhile back:
Some of the fabrics came from the scraps of dresses I had when I was little. I love how it turned out, and I was even able to find some fabric that tied it all together very nicely for the backing & binding.
Oooh! Did I mention my Big Shot conked out on me? It kindly waited until after my last holiday card class.
Here's a little before and after:

I disassembled, hubby WD40'd the bearings, I reassembled, and voila! Back in business! I was not ready to give it up that easy.
Okay, one last craft... I made these fun little pom-pom creatures for the kiddos Easter baskets. I used to make these in elementary school for our class to sell at the school craft fair. We called them Fuzzy Buddies.
Forgot how fun they were to make, and remembered all the googly eyes and Tacky Glue we went through making them.

Happy Crafting!
